A Deaf And Old Dog That Had Been Lost For Days Is Saved By The Shrewd Tino

Tino did a great job today, finding this old dog stuck in the mud.

The dog’s name is Puppy, and he is 150 pounds and 11 years old. He had been missing for about 40 hours when we started searching for him at 5 AM. Tino followed the scent trail to a mud hole about a mile from the house, deep in the woods.

It took three people pulling on ropes to get Puppy out of the mud. His back feet weren’t working at first, probably because he had been stuck in the cold mud for hours.

The woods go on for many miles, and Puppy’s family may not have found him without the help of a search dog.

This was Tino’s first “Walk up find” of his career, on his third official search. He has been training for about 16 months.
